The Fingers Win-A Science Experiment

SerVlad loves science.  He also loves anything gross!
Science Kit + Gross = Big Hit!

We carefully worked together on the stove top preparing gelatin for our experiment.

After the gelatin cooled slightly, SerVlad poured it into the petri dishes.

Next, he had to collect (4) samples of germs!
 #1 Toe Germs!

He then had to mix the germs in with the gelatin.

#2 Underarm Germs!  He was having fun with this-wish the pictures turned out better.

Germs #3 were from his fingers and #4 were from the table.

 He carefully labeled each dish.

Already checking the progress with the handy dandy magnifying glass that came with the kit.  (Note to Mommy:  get him a better magnifying glass soon!)

OK-Mom taped the dishes shut and with the Messy faced proud scientist, put all the petri dishes in the bathroom-under the sink in the cabinet where it would be nice and dark.

Autism Speaks Walk!

Sergio and I were walkers on his school's team, The Allamanda Yellow jackets, for the Autism Speaks Walk.  We headed out in 47 degree weather.

Clearly the cutest walker with a hat that Lala had knit for him.

 How exciting to
meet the clown who makes the BEST nuggets!!

Some older children from Sergio's school performed in the amphitheatre and Geoffrey from that big toy place was there.

Congresswoman Frankel and former West Palm Beach Mayor spoke.

A woman led the crowd in a Zumba warm up-it was fun!
Yeah-he's got the moves like Jagger!

Zumba or Karate mixed with a boy scouts pledge on the right and an Orkan greeting on the left?
Such a Darling!
And kick...♪♫♪♫ Mom with a great scarf that my niece made me!  Walking along with the crowd.  Sergio walked the whole way-3 miles without any complaining.  He had Mom holding one hand, and his first grade teacher holding the other.  He later told his Abuela (Aba) that his teacher is beautiful, so maybe that's why he didn't complain!  ;)

And the views along Flagler Drive were spectacular as always.

We did it!  Hope the walk generated lots of money and awareness for Autism research and programs.  I sure was proud of my little man!

Team Allamanda.

The Torture of Fun

Sergio and I sat down together to do a craft project that he got at Christmas.  I thought it was good for his fine motor skills and Nana and Papa bought it for him.
He was all amped up to do it! ... ... ... Until he realized that it wasn't easy, nor fun in his mind, to sit there putting his together.  SerVlad chose the octopus pegboard guide and I did the fish.

At this point, he had lost interest.

At this point, he looked like he was going to cry.

Dad got home and I called him in as a helper and motivator.

That helped and the two of them finished the design with some grunts and groans when a bead was accidentally knocked out of place.

They finished and I ironed the designs to fuse the plastic beads together.

Hold them up Sergio!
But not in front of your face.
Can you make a face like you are excited?
Gee thanks.
