Hey Southwest: are you ready for me?  I'm going to go see my Nana and Papa and Gram and Gramp and my Uncle, my cousins and Renee!

I'm watching The Haunted Mansion on Mom's laptop!

I better rest because I'm going to have a lot of fun when I get to NH!

After dinner, my cute cousin, Gabrielle, read me a scary story!

Then we went outside and told ghost stories and roasted marshmellows!  Lexi is my tall and pretty cousin!

Wow!  How did Nana make the fire do THAT?

Three buds!

My favorite bud; my Papa!  He read to me too!

Three cousins ready for bed after a fun day!

Being Patriotic on a Fall Day

Sergio is CRAZY for Halloween!  We have the inside of the house decorated. (Pictures soon!)  We still need to decorate on the front porch.  I like to get a few bales of hay at the local feed store; great for displaying some pumpkins!

Sergio has been watching Disney's Haunted Mansion and James and the Giant Peach today but he took a break on the back porch for a little patriotism!  Enjoy!

Dental Woes

Do you remember this post?  http://igofeedturtles.blogspot.com/2010/03/4-years-old-and-he-knows-tooth-fairy.html

Over a year ago, SVZ had to go into the O.R., under anesthesia to have some dental work done.  He is not a good dental patient, period.  Add that to his tiny mouth and the Dentist's ginormous hands and it's not a good combination.

Sergio went to the Dentist last week.  He wouldn't let the staff even take X-Rays... SO.... as far as the Dentist can see, Sergio needs three filling in the baby molars and suggests the O.R. .... AGAIN!

Sergio is at ANOTHER Dentist today in the hopes that they can help him in the office.  This Dentist's office offers in-office IV sedation.  Perfect right....... Nope!  They do not take our insurance but will offer us a discount.  Believe me we have shopped around for this same issue in the past and we ended up in the O.R. anyway.

I talked to SVZ as Dad was driving him to the appointment and he told me, "Mom, I am flossing my teeth with some string.  The string goes in my teeth and takes all the allergies out."

Then Dad called me from the DMD office for a phone number to SVZ's Cardiologist.  (SVZ needs medical clearance for dental procedures due to his cardiac history.) I gave him the number and he asked for the Doctor's name.  Dr. Sherron I said.  Dr. Juan? he asked.... Oh my between the two of them I am going to hitch a ride on the crazy train!  Stay tuned.....

Way to go Sergio!
Daddy and I are so proud of him.  There may be less smiley faces on some days but this day shows that he can do it!

Skeleton or Monkey?

Dad helped Sergio with his first experience in tree climbing! Now he wants to be lifted up there all the time.  I found some cute Halloween pajamas at Old Navy for our trip to NH in October. I showed them to Sergio and he had to put them on right away!  The ones he has on here have skeleton bones that glow in the dark.  He would go outside, stand in the sun, then come in and go into my closet and close the door!  I have a full length mirror in the closet so he danced and glowed in front of it.

The pajamas have a pumpkin heart under the ribs! We both can't wait for him to wear the pajamas in NH!

Kindergarten!!!

Conversation Two Nights Before Kindergarten:
Mom: Sergio tomorrow when you wake up, you will go to Aba’s (his Paternal Grandma) for the day.  Then when you go to sleep tomorrow, you will wake up and go to kindergarten!!! You will be a kindergartner!!  And you will be (Mom getting choked up) the cutest kindergartner in the whole class!
SVZ: Mom, I farted.

The morning of kindergarten went smooth.  We got dressed, ate breakfast and wet down messy hair!  New backpack on, it was time to go outside and pose for pictures.  Sergio was in rare form with poses that looked like he was in the Madonna Strike a Pose video!

During the ride to school I reminded him of his manners, to listen to his teacher, keep his hands to himself, etc.

We parked at the school and I walked Sergio into his classroom.  The school only allows this for the first week.  The teacher was waiting for the children and told them, ‘Place your backpacks on this table and then sit at another table with an activity on it and play with that activity.’  (There were tables with puzzles, legos, etc.)  Sergio put his backpack down on the correct table and then promptly marched up to the teacher and said, ‘I don’t want to play with the things on the table!’  The teacher bent down to his level and I counted at least five, Sergio look at me’s, until he finally did look at her, and she repeated her initial instructions.

Sergio wasn’t upset when I left, after all, he has been going to some kind of day care for a few years.

I have such great hopes and wishes for him that he will strive in the kindergarten setting this year and grow by leaps and bounds in all ways possible.
