Holiday Time

This month, we took a holiday trip to the big apple.
It was a great experience for all of us.
Highlights of the trip, for SerVlad, included the Natural History Museum, seeing the Rockettes, riding the subway, and all those revolving doors!
It was amazing to see all the real dinosaur bones that have been dug up and displayed!

The Radio City Christmas Spectacular was a great show!  Everything from the Rockette's, to Santa, to the Nativity! The show even had two parts where we had to put on 3D glasses!

We had great seats and munched on theatre popcorn!!

Sergio loved going underground to the subway!
He didn't want to keep his hat on so I tied my scarf around his neck!

This poor guy didn't always get the concept of the revolving doors...he either tried to step into them to late, or didn't get our fast enough.  Mom and Dad had a few saves so he didn't get crushed!

SerVlad was recently in a school performance. The theme of the Performance was Broadway.

Sergio's class performed to the music of Hey Howdy Hey, from Disney's Toy Story 2!
It was real cute and all the kids did great and looked adorable!

After the performance, the parents were invited to the classroom for some cookies and juice.

This is how the entrance to his classroom is decorated.

A closer view to see his picture better.

Photo Shoot #1with the Jupiter Lighthouse in the background.
Photoshoot #2: I picked up Sergio from school and we hit the beach.  He thought it was awesome that he got to run and chase the birds.  I was actually trying to get a good Christmas card picture to send out.

Turns out we both had a great time because in between pictures, I sure enjoyed watching him have fun!!

In November, Sergio attended a classmate's birthday party at a gymnasium,

Daddy's birthday celebration at the Coal Fired Pizza place,

 and enjoyed celebrating Thanksgiving!

He actually thought we would let him eat only fruit chews for Thanksgiving dinner.... Wrong!  :(

Politically Correct?

I picked up SerVlad from school yesterday.  I always ask him how many tokens he got (his reward system), how his day was, and to tell me one thing the teacher taught him.  I also ask how the other kids were and he usually tells me one child, in particular, was misbehaving.

So on this day I played along...or so I thought:

Me: Sergio, how was your day?
SerVlad: Great Mom, 8 tokens!
Me: Wow, that is awesome!!  Was (so-n-so) well behaved today or a Wild Indian?
SerVlad: MOM!  You said Indian....(so-n-so) was a Native American!

Veteran's Observance Day at School

Sergio's teacher requested that the students wear red, white, or blue to school this past Monday, the day of the Veteran's Day Federal Observance.

I picked up Sergio after school and this was our conversation.

Mom: Sergio, how was red white and blue day, did you talk about Veteran's Day?

SerVlad: Naaaah, we talked about BORING Thanksgiving!  Thanksgiving is the most BORINGEST holiday ever!  And I hate Thanksgiving Dinner.  One time I bit into a turkey and I got dizzy.

Mom:  Oh my.... hee hee

Gotta Love Him!

In mid-October, Sergio was invited to a birthday party for a boy he went to kindergarten with.  They were good buds and it was nice to get the kids together as SerVlad now goes to a different school to obtain some special services.

Is this the look of having FUN or what!

Such a colorful place. The kids got to jump in bounce houses, ride bumper boats, and ride small go carts.  Following pizza and cake, which of course SerVlad didn't touch, they were given a small bag of tokens for the game room.  A fun day.

Who doesn't love Skee Ball!

First weekend in November and SerVlad was invited to a birthday party for a child in his current class.  There are 9 kids total in their class and 7 total were present! It's nice that they all come together for each other! Today's party was in Jupiter (I was happy about that!) at a gymnastics place. Two leaders kept the kids busy going from one activity to another for an hour.
One LONG trampoline!

Obstacle Course

The kids loved the foam square pit!

A History Lesson

I brought SerVlad to Halpatiokee Regional Park in Stuart Florida to see the Viet Nam Traveling Wall.

Here is a little bit about the wall:

The Wall is a 3/5 scale of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC, it stands six feet tall at the center and covers almost 300 feet from end to end.
This Traveling Memorial stands as a reminder of the great sacrifices made during the Vietnam War. It was made for the purpose of helping heal and rekindle friendships and to allow people the opportunity to visit loved ones in their home town who otherwise may not be able to make the trip to Washington.

We talked about how many lives were lost in order to protect all our freedoms.  We had a few USA! chants on the way there!

The names were one right after another, just a space between each name.

We paused for prayer.

SerVlad wore a Marine Corps T-shirt!

There were several military vehicles to look at.

This was a small trailer that someone drove to the event.  It was their personal collection.  SerVlad really liked looking at the things in here!

Had to take this picture for Papa!  Go NAVY!
