A History Lesson

I brought SerVlad to Halpatiokee Regional Park in Stuart Florida to see the Viet Nam Traveling Wall.

Here is a little bit about the wall:

The Wall is a 3/5 scale of the Vietnam Memorial in Washington DC, it stands six feet tall at the center and covers almost 300 feet from end to end.
This Traveling Memorial stands as a reminder of the great sacrifices made during the Vietnam War. It was made for the purpose of helping heal and rekindle friendships and to allow people the opportunity to visit loved ones in their home town who otherwise may not be able to make the trip to Washington.

We talked about how many lives were lost in order to protect all our freedoms.  We had a few USA! chants on the way there!

The names were one right after another, just a space between each name.

We paused for prayer.

SerVlad wore a Marine Corps T-shirt!

There were several military vehicles to look at.

This was a small trailer that someone drove to the event.  It was their personal collection.  SerVlad really liked looking at the things in here!

Had to take this picture for Papa!  Go NAVY!

What's the Buzz?

Sergio did it!  He got all of his tokens, every day for a full week for the first time this school year and he became 'The Bee of the Week'.  Mama Bee was just buzzing with pride!

As part of his special week, he got a visor with 'Team Attitude' on it to wear and keep, he gets his picture up on a giant hive (I will get a picture of that later!), and I got to go have lunch with him on Friday!! Yay!

I found this most adorable stuffed bee 'just by chance' and it was on clearance for $2.50!!! I brought it to him at lunch along with a yummy happy meal.

One thing that truly touches my heart is the fact that he is excited and happy that I was there.

One hand on the nugget and one on the bee!  He names the bee Allamanda, after the school.  The school mascot is the Yellow Jacket.  We nicknamed him Al for short.

A super happy Mom and son and a little cutie peeking over!

Okay kids, time to line up and head back to class.  Bye Sergio-Mommy and Al will see you in a few hours!  xoxox

Annual Visit to the Pumpkin Patch

Handsome Sergio
Age 7 2012

Not black clouds, rain, nor thunder could have stopped SerVlad and I from visiting the Pumpkin Patch this morning!  We started the day with decorating the house for Halloween and Fall and then headed out to our annual visit to the Pumpkin Patch!

We go to the same 'Patch' each year, which is at a church in Jupiter.  They told us that the pumpkins are grown by Indians in New Mexico and transported here.  Proceeds go to the Indians, as well as the youth program at the church here.  That's something we don't mind supporting!

What a handsome and happy boy!

Notice his vampire teeth?  All he needs is a cape this year and he's got the perfect Dracula costume!

Sergio picked out a few good ones, including a green one, white one, and
several orange ones-big and small.

Notice the concentration in his selecting!!  lol

The PERFECT one!

For the last few years, he couldn't help pull the wagon
but this year he was the man for the job!

A quick stop at Publix on the way home and STILL having fun!
Happy Fall Y'ALL!
