Easter Sunday and our 12th Wedding Anniversary!

We started the day with an egg hunt on a soggy soccer field in our yard. It had rained all night it seemed and rained on and off throughout the day. Sergio found eggs with coins in them that he put into his piggy bank, a ball, a balloon, a chocolate bunny, sunglasses, and a matchbox car.
When we came back into the house the Easter bunny had also left some cool books including one all about trains! We drove to Stuart, FL and had lunch on the water at Shrimpers. Sergio was a very good boy thanks in part to the train book! We came home to find egg shells all over the living room. Summer had eaten about 4 Easter eggs including most of the shells. She will have a stomach ache I am sure!
Happy Easter everyone!

Or is it?

In Florida it passes but what about everywhere else? Will people north of Palm Beach County, FL be finding Easter eggs in the snow?

Sergio V will be finding his eggs next week on our soccer field, the day of Sergio and my 12th Anniversary! How cool is that?

Here is a picture of Sergio coloring his Easter eggs and his hand! (he was pretty successful) :-)

Sergio and I are very pleased with Sergio V’s new school! It is so much more structured and caring and professional! This week they have learned about different things on a farm. Sergio is singing Old McDonald! They give me tips and told me they will work with him on his eating. They go outside and play in a nice playground and he isn’t full of sand EVERYWHERE at the end of the day! When I pick him up, he is clean! The staff are so friendly and genuine. They are happy to have Sergio there and welcomed us many times. So no worries, everyone, this is going to be a GREAT thing for Sergio!

Portrait Studios: Just Say No!

We took Sergio to have his Easter pictures taken today at the mall. The whole event, including the drive took 4 hours! Sergio was afraid of the photo area and large backdrop. Between the drive, the wait, getting the baby to smile, lunch while the photos were downloaded, trying to select the shots we wanted, the clerk trying to sell sell sell, and two fussy Sergio's, it was more than enough! I am done with Portrait Studios! From here on out it is our digital camera and props! We did, however, come home with a family photo!

So, Sergio’s last day at his old daycare was last Friday. He is spending the week at his Abuela’s house while we figure out the next move. We found a wonderful school. It is a learning center versus a daycare. Of course you pay for what you get so that’s a pretty good hit to the pocketbook but we will deal with it if that is something that will be good for Sergio. It’s called Professional Learning Center (PLC) and we have great hopes that this will be the right place for Sergio. http://www.professionallearningcenter.org/ PLC is one of the top rated centers in this area!

Okay, now for the sad story. This morning, Sergio got Sergio V. dressed and ready to go to Abuela’s house. On the way to Daddy’s van Sergio V said, “I go school.” Daddy said, “No Sergio, we aren’t going to school today, we are going to Aba’s house.” Sergio V. Repeated, “I go school.” That made me sooo sad to hear. He misses his buddies, his teacher and his routine. One more week at Abuela’s and then he starts at PLC so I hope that the new school and friends and teacher and routine will satisfy what he is missing right now!

Being a parent, a full time working parent is not an easy job; there is so much involved!
I love it just the same!!! Sergio V is wonderful and makes us proud every day! Tuesday night I was at my painting class, Daddy and Sergio V came home after dark and Sergio told me that Sergio V was looking up at the sky on his way into the house singing (at the top of his little lungs) TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE STAR! Priceless!

Diary of a Day Care Drop Out

Hi, It's me, Sergio V. In a nutshell, I quit school. My school wasn't cool. I would lose lots of things, get bit by other kids, come home dirty and hungry, have lots of dirt in my diaper, not drink much fluids, etc.... so, I quit.

I spent the day at Abuela's house. Awwww... that was the life! I went to Tia's house, Daddy came by and took me fishing, Abo and Aba played with me, I ate and drank good, I watched Kiko the bird, and I was always kept clean! A little guy could get used to this! I know it's only temporary until Mommy and Daddy find me a new school but I'm going to enjoy it while it lasts!
